Courtyard of the Maidens, Alcazar of Seville
This was the center of King Pedro's palace, "considered Spain's best example of the Mudejar style....Pedro's original courtyard was a single story; the upper floors were added by Ferdinand and Isabel's grandson, Charles V, in the 16th century. Today, those upper-story rooms are part of the Spanish monarchs' living quarters." (Rick Steves)
